Looking for stripes? Meet Candy Stripe!
There are a few varieties of striped, or variegated, peonies in our fields… and they are all super popular when they are in bloom.
As visitors wander the fields, most are drawn to these unique peony flowers that offer a little something extra. Candy Stripe, Independence Day, Circus Circus, and Summer Carnival are those that you’ll see growing here if and when you visit our farm.
But the reality is that I don’t have a lot of those plants growing, so I couldn’t sell a lot!
Well that has changed my friends! I found a partner grower who was willing to share Candy Stripe in high enough quantity that I am able to both offer some for sale as bare roots this fall, some as potted peonies in the spring and I also ordered extra so I can plant more in my field to be able to grow on and offer as cut flowers and bare roots for future seasons. I’m so excited!
Here are the details on Candy Stripe:
Peony Candy Stripe is a striking combination of white and red streaks in a double form flower. The unique coloring makes this a focal point of the garden when in bloom or brought indoors as a cut flower. This is one of our most asked about peonies when it is blooming in the field.
Generous amount of lightly fragrant blooms on 30-36” stems can benefit from some support in the garden. Makes for an excellent cut flower.
Bloom date rating is week 7.
