See the map! Where our peonies were shipped in 2025

It’s always fun at the very end of the season to see where our peony roots ended up. This year there were a few tweaks compared to last year with a final tally of 45 states plus DC on the shipping list. Wow!

Peonies grow well in zones 3-8 so most states can support them well. One of my favorite peony facts is that it is a rare plant that Minnesota can grow but Florida can’t! The cold is absolutely necessary for peonies to form their big and beautiful flowers. However, I do know a few folks who are breaking those rules and having success!

I’m always a fan of pushing the plant boundaries. This year on our farm I planted some persimmon trees and quite a few hydrangeas that typically aren’t grown in this part of the country, but in the right microclimate the just might be successful.
